After taking on a temp job of cleaning the local duke's summer home, he suddenly summons you and informs you of his intent to hunt you for sport alongside his lackeys in exactly one hour. As expected, it seems that this man and his ilk have no respect for low income workers.

There's nowhere to hide on this remote archipelago - you have no choice but to train in the art of dueling combat by practicing against the local wildlife. But armed with only your pitiful life savings of a measly 200G versus a squadron of battle junkies, it's going to be an uphill battle...

This game was inspired by the experience of playing Dragon Quest 1 (NES) on repeat playthroughs and trying to find ways to expedite the immense late-game grind - which in that game's case there aren't actually very many of.

In accordance with this, more powerful enemies are highly rewarding to fight early on, and there are a lot of unique spells which can be used creatively to hit above your weight class. In fact, you'll need to do this if you want to get strong enough in time to avoid your impending demise...

Overworld layouts, monster types and spell availability are also shuffled around every playthrough to promote general mastery of the mechanics instead of memorization of an optimal route. You can consider each playthrough of the game as a hypothetical alternate timeline.
